Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ballarat

Dr Annie Tan

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Annie’s interest in Women’s Health began in medical school, while on placement at the Royal Women’s Hospital. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2010, she returned to the Women’s and commenced her specialist training in 2014.

Annie has also worked at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Sunshine Hospital and the Ballarat Base Hospital. As a Fellow, Annie gained further experience in adolescent gynaecology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and gynaecological cancers at the Mercy Hospital for Women. This background has provided her with a wide breadth of experience encompassing complex obstetric care, ultrasound, colposcopy, pelvic floor surgery and laparoscopy.

In 2019, Annie relocated to Boston to undertake a research placement at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the second-largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Reproductive Medicine via the University of NSW, and teaches students at the Deakin Clinical School.

Annie considers it a great privilege to care for women at all life stages; from adolescence to pregnancy, menopause and beyond. She is delighted to be returning to OGB and values the opportunity to offer high-quality care to the Ballarat and surrounding community.

While not at work, Annie is most likely to be found reading a book, planning her next holiday or making a mess of her kitchen (translation: she likes to cook).
